Alex has also been to Ireland at the invitation of the National Roads Authority to help them develop guidance on traffic calming on national roads which pass through rural communities.
Even though the economy may not be as buoyant as it once was, there are still large numbers of lorries on the national roads. The presence of these vehicles can give rise to problems for cyclists at the pinch points introduced to slow down through traffic. Our work in this area should lead to better conditions for all cyclists.
