Guidance was published on 19th Jan on how to bid for funding from the new Local Sustainable Transport Fund and many local authorities will be keen to start to draft their bids. Transport Initiatives are ready to advise councils preparing their bids.

As you will no doubt be aware the two key elements of successful bids will be their local economic value and their contribution to carbon reduction. Walking and cycling schemes should score highly by these measures and the potential funding that becomes available as a result may be greater than that previously available.
